Project BOEI
Sustainable Ships performed a techno-economic feasibility study for the Province of South-Holland and InnovationQuarter on offshore charging of tankers at the anchorage at Scheveningen. As part of the job, a purpose-build tool for interactive parametric design to create insights for decision-making. The study determined that offshore charging of tankers is technically and economically feasible.
Port of Rotterdam
Sustainable Ships provided the Port of Rotterdam with a techno-economic shore power feasibility study and a custom assessment tool for shipowners. The work estimated conversion costs, identified key technical challenges, and outlined applicable standards and retrofit requirements for connecting vessels to shore power. The study enables shipowners to quickly assess the technical implications and indicative costs of shore power conversion, supporting informed investment and retrofit decisions.
Shore Power Calandkanaal
One of our crew members realized the largest shore power connection in Rotterdam - 20MW - from inception, to design, up to project management and execution.
