Sustainable Ships developed a vessel-specific decarbonisation roadmap to support long-term sustainability decisions for an inland shipping operator.

Steenstra Shipping required a clear and practical overview of how upcoming decarbonisation requirements would affect the Douwe-S, and which carbon reduction measures could realistically be considered over the vessel’s remaining lifetime. The objective was to move from regulatory uncertainty to a structured, long-term sustainability plan.

Sustainable Ships delivered a Decarbonizer report for the Douwe-S, providing a tailored assessment of regulatory exposure and feasible emission reduction measures. This included interpretation of upcoming requirements such as EEXI, indicative cost estimates for options including shore power, and an evaluation of whether existing onboard systems, such as the installed economiser, could be repurposed or optimised.
